You can read about it and download a 28-day trial version from here:

DVACE

Some of you might remember an earlier beta version of DVACE from a little while ago. I have improved things like the de-interlacing and audio monitoring and simplified it, removing the logging features. It is not now so all singing and dancing but lightweight, fast and powerful. If you try it please let me know what you think.

The biggest and main one is restarting work on version 3.0 of DigiRostum. Development has been on hold for a couple of years as I have been very busy with other projects, however I have ring-fenced some time to get on with it at last, and yes it will run on Macs too this time.

I am planning a slightly unorthodox development process, as I am going to rewrite a lot from scratch. I will try to get a basic cross platform version up and running fairly quickly but with fewer features than the current version. I will release this as a beta available to all current users and then add in existing and new features, hopefully guided by users’ wish lists as well as my own preferences. When it seems better than the existing version it will replace it.

Version 3 will do new and wonderful things but it will not get a mass of new complicated features. One of DigiRostrum’s strengths is its ease of use so I will try to improve it while keeping it as simple as possible.

As always I am very happy to get any suggestions for features or improvements.

Paul

SWAP screensaver

I have repackaged an old video/computer art piece of mine called SWAP as a screen saver. This video shows a clip of ME (in 1998 when I had hair) playing with the original one.

SWAP video on youTube

It is called SWAP because it literally swaps time and space. It’s hard to explain but fun to play with and FREE. To try it out you will need a PC and a camera, preferably a DV one with Firewire.

You can download the screensaver here
